Elected to the Erie School Board in 1981, Eva Tucker Jr. served as that body’s president four times. Tucker arrived in Erie in 1964 and served as assistant professor geosciences at Penn State Behrend, contributing numerous scholarly publications and was honored for his scholarly work and service by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources and the Erie Redevelopment Authority. His leadership on the School Board included persistent efforts to enrich the curriculum and diversify the work force.
